An interesting, trivial fact is the fact that the sale of “paint” is growing substantially. People change paint colours more frequently. To the point of this Eblast, printers are being asked to print more paint can labels than ever before! As pictured, all gallon paint can labels have two 1” or 1 ¼” round holes for the handle insertion. There are two ways to produce the holes in paint can labels…die-cut or drill. By far the cheapest and best is drilling for the following reasons…
- Paint can labels are lighter stock that doesn’t feed very well through regular die-cutting machines
- Conventional die-cutting has spoilage…drilling has zero
- Die-cutting leaves “nicks” around the edges…drilling is as smooth as glass
