Fan binding as you can see in the video, the single sheets are fanned two ways and run over the surface of a glue roller. The glue “creeps” up both sides of the paper, about 1/8 inch on each side of the sheets. This process is MUCH more durable than regular perfect bound books. The “fan-glued” pages can then have a cover applied or the “fan-glued” pages can be glued into a hard cover, resulting in a hardback/case bound book.
